About Viña Zorzal Golerga

Viña Zorzal a leading winery in the production of quality wines from Navarra, has made the bird on its labels famous all over the world through their successful initiatives. Now the Sanz family has decided to create their first village wine with the help of Gonzalo Ibarrola Intxusta, a winegrower in the village of Lerga who champions the Navarra Grenache more than anyone. This is a unique initiative that, taking into account climate change, has sought plots with higher latitude, altitude and rainfall.

The fruit of one of the freshest historical Grenache sites in the world, Viña Zorzal Golerga is a red wine from 12 hectares of old Grenache vines, located in the middle of the low mountains. The vines are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. Once Gonzalo’s work in the vineyard is finished, the grapes become the responsibility of Viña Zorzal. First they are selected and fermented in concrete vats with native yeasts and then the wine is aged in 500-litre French oak barrels for 2 years.

So, under the victorious cry of “Go, Go Lerga!” Viña Zorzal Golerga was born, the first village wine from this Navarra winery. A fresh and light Grenache that makes it obvious how the bird label has made it into every house.
