Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut
Champagne Brut. 4 3 años en botella sin degüelle and 6 meses en botella con degüelle.
Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut is a dry sparkling wine (with 7 g/L of residual sugar). Olfactorily, it is intricate, exhibiting mineral, floral, and white fruit nuances (apricot, plum, mirabelle). These are complemented by hints of citrus (lemon), quince, and a delicate honeyed note. On the palate, the floral character re-emerges, interwoven with toasted, saline, and effervescent accents. It possesses a silky and well-structured mouthfeel. Vibrant.

About Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut
For decades, the esteemed champagne house Gosset - established in 1584 by Pierre Gosset in Aÿ - has predicated its production on pinot noir. However, in recent years, chardonnay has begun to assume a more prominent role in their range of creations. This is exemplified by the dry sparkling Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut.
The Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut was unveiled in 2011 as an answer to the connoisseurs' preference for a more refined, elegant, and fresh touch from this winery. This shift entailed moving from the finest pinot noir vineyards within the A.O.C. Champagne to sourcing the best chardonnay plots located in the grands crus of Avize, Chouilly, and Cramant (in the Côte de Blancs) and Villers-Marmery and Trépail (in the Montagne de Reims). These vineyards are extraordinary, with high-quality grapes that benefit from both the calcareous soil (with a predominance of chalk) and the maritime-continental climate. This locale is the convergence point for a number of factors that make this possible: the soil's high water retention capacity, the average annual temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, consistent rainfall, cool summers, mild winters, and hillside plantations (which facilitate water drainage and sun exposure for the vineyards).
With clusters of grapes of such caliber, half the journey is already accomplished. Now, the next leg of the voyage takes place in the winery, where the vinification process is carried out with equal care and attention. Following the initial selection, the grapes are gently pressed to extract the must. From there, Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut is transferred directly into stainless steel tanks to undergo primary fermentation. At this stage, once the yeast has transformed it into wine, Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut is bottled and moved to the cellar, where it will age on its lees for 3 to 5 years before disgorgement (following a blending of different vintages). During this period, the blend undergoes secondary fermentation, remaining in contact with its lees and deliberately avoiding malolactic fermentation. This particularity is one of the hallmarks of this house, where there is a concerted effort to preserve the grape's malic acid, maintaining the natural freshness and acidity of the fruit. After this period, Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut is disgorged, ready for its final expedition and distribution.
