About Cortijo los Aguilares Pago El Espino

Cortijo los Aguilares Pago El Espino is a red wine produced in the D.O. Sierras de Málaga by the winery Cortijo de los Aguilares, in Ronda.

Cortijo los Aguilares is a Holm-oak wood area that has 800 hectares, with 19 hectares of vines, which were planted in 1999. They are distributed in three plots with clayey-calcareous soils at an altitude of more than 900 metres.

Vine cultivation is carried out in line with the integrated agriculture parameters, respecting the environment to the maximum extent and avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides.

It is a young winery that aims to achieve the maximum reflection of the terroir in its wines.


Cortijo los Aguilares Pago El Espino is a red wine comprised of Petit Verdot, Tempranillo and Syrah. Harvest is performed by hand. Grapes are stored in boxes and when they arrive at the winery, they are refrigerated at 2ºC. Traditional winemaking process with a gravity system. Aged for 15 months in 300 and 500-litre barrels.

 

Cortijo los Aguilares Pago El Espino is an intense, fresh and lingering wine. Within the Andalusian region, the balsamic and fruity notes show us the uniqueness of the wines from this area.
