About Zubrówka Vodka

Żubrówka is a distinguished vodka crafted in Poland. Its name translates to “bison grass vodka”, encapsulating its signature trait: the infusion of bison grass into the spirit, which endows it with a highly distinctive character.
 
Bison grass, indigenous to the borderlands of Poland and Belarus, is harvested in June under the full moon and transported to Białystok (Poland). There, it is steeped in hot water and subsequently in high-quality alcohol. The resultant infusion is left to mature for 30 days in oak casks and is then filtered. Ultimately, it is blended with the vodka base, a distillate made from rye grains and water sourced from deep wells.
 
Vodka Żubrówka is the culmination of a time-honored recipe, dating back to the 14th century, which has been handed down through generations. The vodka is bottled with a sprig of bison grass, which continues to impart its unique aromas and flavors; it is the most closely guarded secret of the Białowieża Forest, the sanctuary of the last remaining bison and one of Europe's final primeval woodlands.
