Not all great discoveries originate from distant lands. Sometimes, even the most marvellous things can be found just around the corner, waiting for those who know how to look, like any of the vinos de António Madeira.

French by birth with Portuguese roots, this winemaker abandoned his life in France to return to his ancestral land with a clear vision: to restore forgotten old vineyards in the Serra da Estrela, within the Dão, and to restore them to their deserved prominence. Since 2010, António Madeira has been exploring small plots aged between 50 and 130 years, planted on granite soils in some of the country's most unique locations.

The result is wines of immense character, crafted from typical indigenous varieties such as encruzado, bical, síria, arinto, or malvasía fina, in limited productions, exceedingly rare, that seldom appear twice in a lifetime.
