Ramón do Casar Treixadura is a white wine produced by the winery Bodega Ramón do Casar in Prado, Ourense, D.O.Ribeiro.

 

Ramón do Casar is a project that was started by the three González Sabucedo brothers to fulfil the dream of their father, Ramón, who after spending 20 years in Venezuela was able to return and gradually buy the land where these exquisite wines are born.

Bodega Ramón do Casar has 8 hectares of their own vineyards, located on the banks of the river Miño. It was planted in 2000 with local varieties, on granitic soils, at 350 meters of altitude and with the influence of the oceanic-Atlantic climate.

At the head of the technical direction is Pablo Estévez, a young winemaker recognised for producing great white wines in this area. He personally supervises each crop and cultivation process, from pruning to harvesting, to ensure that all the grapes have an excellent quality when they are harvested.

 

Ramón do Casar Treixadura is a wine made from Treixadura, from the winery's best vineyards.

Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in the vineyard and in the winery, on a selection table. Before fermenting, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. After this, they go through cold skin-contact maceration for a few hours with dry ice. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature.
