Raimat Albariño 2024 is a brilliant white wine with a straw-yellow hue and greenish reflections. On the nose, it is distinguished by its aromatic complexity, where mineral notes, white flowers, and tropical fruits like mango blend with nectarine and a citrus hint of grapefruit. On the palate, it begins fresh, with a fuller mid-palate and a long, refreshing finish. The mouthfeel mirrors the olfactory notes, starting with citrus, followed by mineral nuances, and culminating in white flowers and melon.

About Raimat Albariño

There are certain myths that pass from generation to generation. Perhaps one of the most deeply rooted stories told by huge numbers of people is the one that says new babies are delivered by storks. It was the famous Danish fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen, who popularised the myth with the story ‘The Storks’. In this story, storks took babies to the homes of good children and dead babies to the homes of bad children. However, historically this bird has been revered since the time of the Egyptians. Because of its migration patterns, ancient civilisations developed the belief that they are a symbol of good luck. These birds are particularly known for keeping their mate for life, preparing a nest for their young for years, and finding the best places to stay. They look for towers, bell towers or tree tops where they can be protected from predators and avoid pollution, noise and anything else that might harm them. In Saira, a village near the Catalan winery Raimat (Catalonia) it is very common to see nests of these birds. Considering that below them, the vineyards are completely sustainable, there is no better place to build their home. To mark this, the winery has made a wine using the name of the village.

Raimat Albariño Saira is an Albariño made with grapes cultivated using organic agriculture and certified by the Catalan Council of Integrated Production. Specifically, they come from two vineyards that are harvested separately at the optimum point of ripeness and they are also vinified separately in the winery. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled barrels, with lees and daily battonage. Afterwards, 10% of the wine is aged for 10 months in barrels and then the final blend is made.

Although Albariño is a grape native to Rías Baixas, Raimat Albariño shows that it can also bring its full potential in other denominations, as in this case in the D.O. Costers del Segre. Saira is a wonderful paradise for birds and the inspiration behind this fresh, broad and delicious Albariño.

The palate is broad and fresh, with a pleasant texture and continental character, reaffirming the fruity personality found on the nose. A mineral and very gastronomic white wine with great aromatic complexity.
