About Rafael Cambra Dos

Rafael Cambra Dos is a red wine from the D.O. Valencia produced by Rafael Cambra. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Cabernet Franc (40%), and Monastrell (20%).

The winery's vineyards are situated in the l'Ombria mountain range, in the village of Fontanars. The climate is Mediterranean, and the soils from which the grapes for Rafael Cambra Dos originate are sandy.

The harvest is conducted using boxes with an eight-kilogram capacity to prevent the grapes from breaking before reaching the winery. An initial selection process is carried out in the vineyard itself.

Rafael Cambra Dos undergoes alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28°C for approximately two weeks. During this period, daily pump-overs and gentle punch-downs are performed.

Before bottling, Rafael Cambra Dos rests for about ten months in French oak barrels. Of these ten months, four are also spent on the lees.

Rafael Cambra adheres to a philosophy of minimal intervention. His wines are primarily based on Monastrell, with the potential addition of other varieties depending on the product.

2013 Intense and fruity, it is also creamy. It presents an optimal acidity and remarkable balsamic. It is fresh and shows sweet and well integrated tannins. Broad and persistent finish.

2012 It has a good and intense attack, with very tasty and creamy notes of fruit coating the mouth from the beginning. Excellent acidity, which along with the balsamic aromas (basically menthol), provides the wine with very good freshness. Sweet and well integrated tannins. A very nice, long and lingering finish.

2007 Nice, fresh and powerful attack. Meaty and tasty mid palate, with a good charge of fruit (ripe red fruit) and fine hints of very varietal balsamic and spicy flavours. Intense and concentrated wine. Round tannins. Long and persistent finish. A very pleasant wine that invites to have another glass.

Dark cherry colour with violet trims. Legs that dye the glass.

Aromatic and powerful intensity. Lots of ripe fruits that stand out on a background of spicy and roasted notes provided by the oak. Some dairy touches.
