About Queen Côtes de Provence Rosé

Roger Taylor, the drummer of the legendary band Queen, has always had a close affinity with wine. Thus, when he decided to create his own rosé, he aimed to do more than merely attach the name of the iconic British band to a bottle. For this reason, he sought out the finest, resulting in Queen Côtes de Provence Rosé, a precise and elegant rosé, the likes of which are increasingly rare.

Les Caves du Commandeur, a historic cooperative in Provence established in 1913, were entrusted with assisting Taylor in crafting a wine that would be worthy of the region where it originated. Currently, this cooperative comprises around 60 winegrowers and encompasses approximately 650 hectares of vineyards spread across nine municipalities in Provence, where the majority of the vines are certified organic. The harvest of Queen Côtes de Provence Rosé is conducted parcel by parcel, meticulously monitoring the ripeness to preserve a good natural acidity in the grapes. While Taylor was directly involved in defining the style and blend, the oenologist Valérie Courrèges worked alongside the winegrowers, deeply engaged in this crucial task. This distinctive freshness is consistently maintained in the winery, where Queen Côtes de Provence Rosé is crafted with a blend of Grenache and Cinsault.

Queen Côtes de Provence Rosé illustrates that while the label's name may capture attention, it is the contents of the bottle that ultimately captivate the glass. Do not judge prematurely.
