About Prieto Pariente La Provincia

Prieto Pariente La Provincia is a red wine coupage made with the Tempranillo and Garnacha varieties, as a Castilla y León table wine by Bodegas Prieto Pariente, in Valladolid, Spain.

Prieto Pariente La Provincia comes from a desire to demonstrate the richness and diversity of wine in Valladolid. To make this wine, they chose to use old Tempranillo vines that grow in Valbuena de Duero, Mucientes and Pedrosa del Rey, where Garnacha vines are also grown. These three plots have soils with a variety of compounds like sand, limestone, clay, loam and silt.

When they make Prieto Pariente La Provincia, the clusters ferment spontaneously in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation, one part in stainless steel tanks and the rest in barrels. The wine ages for eleven months in 225- and 500-litre used French oak barrels. It is bottled and rests for a minimum of 10 months in the winery before going to market.

Siblings Ignacio and Martina Prieto Pariente are the third generation of Bodegas José Pariente, and they decided to start their own project, Bodegas Prieto Pariente, which seeks to reveal the diversity and expression of the territory through unique wines that are full of freshness and elegance.
