Ornellaia Le Volte 2023 is an elegant, juicy red wine with an Italian spirit. From the glass, it unfolds notes of blackberry and black cherry, wrapped in a gentle aroma of ripe plums and a hint of spice reminiscent of wood. On the palate, it presents itself as rounded and amiable, with smooth tannins and a fresh acidity that allows it to flow naturally. About Ornellaia Le Volte

Ornellaia is synonymous with excellence. A name that has become a symbol of exceptional quality and superiority ever since marquess Lodovico Antinori established the winery with the aim of producing world-class wines in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, which was not previously renowned for its quality wines. Thus, it aligns with the Super Tuscan movement, wines crafted using French grape varieties and modern winemaking techniques, which are esteemed for their quality and ability to challenge Italian wine traditions. A successful oenological vision that has expertly harnessed a unique terroir and extraordinary microclimate to create authentic masterpieces that are highly coveted.

One such gem is Ornellaia Le Volte, a red wine crafted from merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and sangiovese varieties, with vines rooted in clay, sand, silicate rock, marl, and volcanic rock soils, cultivated according to a philosophy that prioritises quality from its origins. Harvesting is done manually in 15 kg boxes upon full ripeness and is immediately transported to the winery. Fermentation is conducted separately for each vineyard in small stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred, part into barrels previously used for their premier wine Ornellaia, and part into concrete tanks for 10 months.
 
With a perfect balance between tannic structure and fresh fruit expression, Le Volte dell’Ornellaia is a wine with the distinction and complexity of the Old World, yet with the Toscana IGT soil and microclimate. A reflection of all the savoir-faire of Ornellaia.
