Orben 2022 is a red wine that captivates from the first sip with aromas of wild and dark fruits, intertwined with delicate balsamic nuances, creamy notes, and a sweet hint of toffee. About Orben

Orben is a wine from the Rioja region. It is produced by the Bodegas Orben, the youngest winery from the Artevino Family Wineries, which also is home to Bodegas Izadi and Finca Villacreces, known for the exceptional quality of their wines, and Bodeges Vetus.

The grapes used to make Orben come from vines grown on 79 microplots in Laguardia, la Rioja Alavesa. A region where the mediterranean and atlantic climates meet, resulting in mild temperatures for most of the year.

The wine is aTempranillo. The vineyards used were planted between 1945 and 1954 on calcareous clay soils.

As for the winemaking process, the harvest is carried out manually using 15kg capacity boxes. The grapes then pass through a selection table. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, while maolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. Finally, the wine is aged for 12 months in fine grained French Oak Barrels.

Orben 2021 boasts a striking bright cherry garnet hue that captivates from the glass. On the nose, a spectrum of enticing aromas unfolds: notes of wild and dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, intertwine with balsamic touches, creamy dairy nuances, and a backdrop of gentle toasted caramel toffee. On the palate, it reveals a fleshy and well-structured character, where the notes of red and black fruits blend with smoky undertones. Its complexity is evident in the persistence of its flavour, leaving a lasting aromatic impression. This wine is an excellent choice for those seeking a red with depth and body.
2020

Orben 2020 exhibits a vibrant garnet hue that beckons exploration. Upon nosing, it reveals enchanting aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and a hint of forest fruits, complemented by balsamic nuances, dairy notes, gentle toasting, and a sweet caramel toffee finish. On the palate, this red wine is fleshy and well-structured, offering a medley of flavours including red and black fruit, with a smoky touch. Orben 2020 is a complex and persistent wine, leaving a lasting aromatic impression.                      
2018 Orben 2018 is a mature red wine exuding aromas of ripe fruit, hints of dried herbs, and toasted nuances. On the palate, it is robust, flavorsome, and exceedingly sophisticated. This wine boasts noble tannins and a prolonged, balsamic finish.
2010 Succulent, fruit-forward, and well-structured. Lingering finish with an aromatic retronasal pathway.

Deep cherry-red hue, robust.

Scents of wild berries, balsamic notes, and dairy nuances.
2006 In the palate, this Spanish wine is elegant, fleshy and silky. Its mid palate is marked by abundant notes of fruit, a good and well defined deep acidity and very nice tannins. Long and very persistent finish which shows abundant fruity and smoked aromas at retro-olfaction.

Dark cherry colour with violet nuances. Clean and bright wine with a high robe.

High aromatic intensity. Its expressive notes of wild fruits stand out along with toasted and roasted aromas. Gradually, other nuances are shown and we can notice some balsamic, milky and spicy hints.
