Whisky japonés (70 cl.).

On the palate, this whisky feels creamy and sugary, with flavours of apple cider, cinnamon sticks, buttery toffee, almond, salty butter and custard. Smooth, creamy and long finish with notes of digestive biscuit and rhubarb crumble.

A polished gold colour.

Floral and balanced, with notes of plum jam, cut herbs, rhubarb pie, vanilla ice cream and cold coffee.

About Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Japanese Whisky

Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a pure malt whisky. It is matured for 12 years or more at the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries and blended in vats to produce this outstanding pure malt whisky. This great whisky was named in honour of its creator Masataka Taketsuru. Malt whisky is distilled exclusively from barley malt, and is considered to be the forefather of all other types of whisky. In general, it is divided into single malt whisky (several malt whiskies from a single distillery vatted together) and pure malt whisky (malt whisky from several distilleries vatted together).

Nikka Whiskey a été fondé par Masataka Takesuru, père du whisky japonais. Inspiré par le Scotch Whisky, il décida de consacrer sa vie à la fabrication du whisky. Masataka entra à l'université de Glasgow et devint ainsi le premier Japonais à étudier l'art de la conception du whisky. Il prit des cours de chimie à l'université et effectua des apprentissages en distilleries, où il apprit directement de l'artisan et où il reçut une formation de mélangeur. La conception qu'avait Masataka du whisky était fortement influencée par son expérience écossaise, et il était convaincu que l'environnement était un facteur essentiel. Cependant, il devenait clair que pour produire du whisky comme il l'entendait, il devait devenir indépendant et créa sa propre entreprise : Nikka Whisky, qui dispose de deux distilleries encore en activité aujourd'hui : Yochi et Miyagikyo.
