About Navaherreros Garnacha de Bernabeleva
Navaherreros Garnacha de Bernabeleva is a red wine from the Vinos de Madrid region produced by the Bernabeleva winery. This wine is made using only Grenache grapes.
The grapes used to make this wine are taken from various plots owned by the winery. Given the unique conditions of the various plots, the grapes that make up Navaherreros Garnacha de Bernabeleva are rich and diverse. This way, the diversity of the soils, climates and orientations of the different plots results in a unique wine.
The grapes are cultivated in vines that are between 40 and 80 years old. The harvest for each plot is carried out seperately, as is the various phases of the winemaking and ageing processes. This way, the harvested grapes are able to undergo various production methods. While a percentage undergoes the winemaking process in oak barrels, other parts undergo the process in stainless steel or concrete containers.
After the various phases of the winemaking process, the wine is blended and left to rest in oak barrels from different coopers and of different volumes, ranging between 225 to 600 litres. The result: an exceptional wine that has received unanimous critical acclaim.
The Bernabeleva winery was founded in 1923, when Vincente Alvarez-Villamil bought the a vast range of land. The winery has remained in the hands of his family, who continue to produce superb quality wines on the same land where Don Vincente started working.
2013 | Delightfully flavoursome and fruity, with toasted undertones, it exhibits pleasing mature tannins. Radiant cherry-red hue. Hints of spice and creamy oak. It reveals nuances of fruit along with herbal and chocolate notes. |
