About Michelini i Mufatto La Cautiva Oleo Malbec
The Uco Valley (Argentina), Maldonado (Uruguay) and Bierzo (Spain) are three of the wine regions where Andrea Mufatto and Gerardo Michelini focus all their work, with help from their son Manuel. Having explored unique terroirs with history, since 2015 they have been making independent, original and high quality wines that are known in the most demanding circles.
As part of this quest to find finesse in a wild environment, the Michelini family have made Michelini i Mufatto La Cautiva Oleo Malbec. This single-variety Malbec comes from vines planted in the town of Tupungato, in the Uco Valley (Mendoza). They are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. In the winery, the whole bunches are trodden by foot and fermented with native yeasts. The wine is then aged for 15 months in used 225 litre French oak barrels.
So, when you enjoy a glass of Michelini i Mufatto La Cautiva Oleo Malbec , words like simplicity, freedom, pleasure and terroir will come to mind. A new Argentine classic that stands out for being austere and complex at the same time. A great discovery!
2018 |
Michelini i Mufatto La Cautiva Oleo Malbec 2018 is a smooth red wine with intense aromas of red fruits, toasty notes and sweet spicy hints. On the palate it is juicy, lively and fresh.
