About Louis Latour Echézeaux Grand Cru

Louis Latour Echézeaux Grand Cru is a monovarietal Pinot Noirred wine from the Côte de Nuits region, from the town of Vosne-Romanée and with Apellation Echézeaux Grand Cru, in Burgundy. It is produced by Louis Latour.

Louis Latour is a family winery in Burgundy with more than two hundred years of history. Since its inception it has been run by the same family, and has managed to maintain and increase its great prestige due to the fact that it has always produced high quality wines.

The vineyards for Louis Latour Echézeaux Grand Cru are approximately 40 years old, and their soils are made of clay, limestone and gravel. The harvest is carried out manually, and its yields are approximately 35hl per hectare. The Echézeaux vineyard has 30 hectares and is located 600 metres from the mythical Romanée Conti vineyard. It is part of the prestigious seven Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits strip: Romanée-conti, Richebourg, La Tâche, Romanée-St-Vivant, Romanée, Grands-Échézeaux and Echézeaux.

Louis Latour Echézeaux Grand Cru has been fermented in open oak vats and then aged for 10 to 12 months in new French oak barrels with medium toasting.

Louis Latour Echézeaux Grand Cru is a wine made with grapes from one of the prestigious seven Grand Cru de Côte de Nuits. It is said that the Echézeaux wines are powerful, but fine and delicate at the same time, and that they represent the best value for money in the area.
2015 Louis Latour Echézeaux Grand Cru 2015 reveals touches of mocha, coffee and amaretto on the nose. On the palate it is rounded and full, with hints of crispy fruit, toast and undergrowth after a summer rain. It is a frank and elegant wine with a pleasant persistence.
