About Les Creisses

Les creisses is a wood-aged red wine made by Domaine Les Creisses with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Garnacha Tinta, Mourvèdre and Cariñena varieties in the IGP Pays d’Oc, a Protected Geographical Indication in the Languedoc-Roussillon region (France).

Domaine Creisses is a family estate founded in the 19th century in Languedoc, halfway between the sea and the mountains. Currently in charge is Philippe Chesnelong who, together with his cousin, prestigious winemaker Louis Mitjavile, seeks to express the full potential of the terroir and create great Mediterranean wines.

Les creisses comes from vines planted on a stony clay-limestone plateau with deep soils. The vines are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture following ecological principles (without certification) and half of the vineyard is covered with grass with regular additions of organic matter. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, the Les creisses grapes are destemmed with a long maceration of up to 25 days. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels at a controlled temperature and then aging continues in these same barrels for a minimum of 12 months before bottling.

A Languedoc classic among classics, Les creisses is exuberant, energetic and complex. An ideal wine for those who love wines that are powerful, spicy and gourmet at the same time.
