About Conde Valdemar Tempranillo Blanco

Valdemar Tempranillo Blanco is a young white wine from the D.O La Rioja produced by Bodegas Valdemar in Oyón (Álava).

This is  a famous family run centenary winery that was founded in 1889.

Valdemar Tempranillo Blanco is, as its name suggests, a monovarietal from Tempranillo Blanco. A unique varietal resulting from a natural mutation from Tempranillo.

The grape originates from the estate Alto Cantabria, in La Rioja Alta. The winery possesses 12.5 hectares.

For production, the wine is fermented and aged on its lees in 1st year French oak barrels.

Valdemar Tempranillo Blanco is the first wine produced from this varietal ever in the world.

2014 Wide and structured. Tasty, with a well-balanced acidity. Highlights of fine notes of tropical fruits. Long finish.

Greenish Yellow with golden hues. Clean and bright.

Pleasant aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, floral and herbal base.
2013 Good structure and wide entrance. Intense and very tasty, light and smooth and has great acidity. Long and slightly bitter.

Bright and beautiful yellow with golden reflections. Dense glyceric tears.

A fresh citrus which accommodates small floral and herbal notes.
2011 Full-bodied, well-structured, with substantial volume. Generous entry, featuring intense and very palatable aromatic memories. The palate is silky and smooth, light with outstanding acidity. The finish is prolonged, with a subtle bitter note.

Radiant yellow hue with golden highlights. Clear with a dense glyceric tear.

Intense aromas with pronounced tropical fruit atop a fresh citrus base. Delicate floral and herbal nuances, along with pleasant yeast reminiscences, round out this splendid profile.
2010 Well-bodied and well structured bulky white wine with a wide attack full of intense and very tasty aromatic notes. It shows a creamy and soft mid palate with a light excellent acidity. Long finish with a soft hint of bitterness.

Bright and clean yellow colour with golden reflections. Thick glyceric tears.

Its intense and marked aromas of tropical fruit are released on a fresh background of citrus. Some light floral and grassy notes along with nice hints of yeast round out this great aromatic set.
2009 Entry is fresh, smooth and large volume, turning to the tropical aromas.

Dark golden yellow, bright and dense.

Intense and powerful. Aromas of tropical fruit (pineapple notes) with notes of citrus (grapefruit). Hints of herbs and a smoking point.
