About Heinrich Naked Rosé

Heinrich Naked Rosé is a single-variety Blaufränkisch rosé wine made by Weingut Heinrich in Burgenland, Austria.

 

The clusters used to make the Heinrich Naked Rosé wine come from old vines that are ecologically and biodynamically cultivated, lying on the slopes of the Leitha Mountains in Winden and Breitenbrunn facing southeast. The vines are planted in soils predominantly composed of stones, fossil-rich limestones, calcareous sandstone and mica shales.

 

The harvest is carried out manually in mid-September. When the whole bunches reach the winery, they are partially pressed and macerated for a few hours before undergoing alcoholic fermentation with their native yeasts. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for around 5 months under its fine lees in wooden fermentation vats and amphoras.  The wine is bottled unfiltered, with a minimal amount of sulphur.

 

Weingut Heinrich belongs to the Respekt collective that promotes a respectful and sustainable relationship between its members and nature. So it is not surprising that their wines are so authentic and honestly reflect this winery’s philosophy. The Heinrich Naked Rosé wine is an honest rosé that is worlds apart from the kitch character of many superficial rosés that are popular on the market. 2019 Heinrich Naked Rosé 2019 is a rosé wine that on the nose presents a bouquet of red fruit aromas reminiscent of strawberries and cherries. Upon tasting, it reaffirms the fruitiness with hints of candied strawberries, cherry gummies, and sweetened rhubarb, indulgent flavors that are balanced by its pronounced acidity. A highly palatable rosé with a lingering, dry finish.
