About Hacienda Lopez de Haro Gran Reserva

Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva is a red wine crafted by Bodega Classica in the D.O. La Rioja. Bodega Classica's concept is to produce "classic contemporary wines," combining traditional winemaking with a modern twist.

This is the inaugural vintage of this Gran Reserva, which, if it follows in the footsteps of its younger sibling López de Haro Crianza, is sure to become one of next year's bestsellers.
Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva is crafted from a blend of tempranillo and graciano grape varieties. The grapes are sourced from old vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a town with a rich winemaking tradition situated at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria. The estates are positioned on terraces beside the Ebro River. These are poor soils that yield a low production but grapes of exceptional quality.

The harvest is conducted manually, and the grapes are transported to the winery in small trailers. Fermentation occurs in 30,000 kg vats at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Following fermentation, the grapes undergo maceration for 2 weeks.

Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva undergoes aging in French and American oak barrels for over 30 months, with racking every quarter.
Once barrel aging is complete, it rests in the bottle for a minimum of 3 years before being released to the market.
