About Hacienda el Ternero Torno Crianza

Hacienda el Ternero Torno Crianza is a red wine with D.O.Ca. La Rioja, produced by the winery Hacienda El Ternero, located in an area that belongs to Miranda de Ebro, Burgos.

Hacienda el Ternero is the only winery in Castilla y León that has D.O.Ca. Rioja. Located in the heart of Rioja Alta, it is a small area with 250 hectares that belongs to the province of Burgos.

Its creation dates from 1077, when it belonged to the Monastery of Herrera. In that age, the homestead was the farm of the monastery, where the monks used to cultivate vines and cereal, and they also used to breed calves to use their skin in the scriptorum of the monastery.

Nowadays, the farm has 60 hectares of vineyards located at 650 metres of altitude. The vines are planted on soils that contain a mixture of stones, limestone and sandstone, chalk and clay.            
This unique site results in fresh Atlantic wines that reflect the forest landscape that surrounds the vineyards.

Hacienda el Ternero Torno Crianza is a wine made from 100% Tempranillo from their own vineyards. Grapes are harvested by hand and selected. They ferment in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. After this, they age for 12 months in second-use and third-use French oak barrels.

Hacienda el Ternero Torno Crianza is an expressive, fresh and round wine. It stands out for its flowery aromas and fresh red fruit.
