About Goru 38 Barrels

Goru 38 Barrels is a red wine produced by the winery Ego Bodegas in Jumilla, D.O.Jumilla.

A few kilometres from the historic centre of Jumilla we can find Ego Bodegas. This project was created with the aim of working with the best vineyards in the area and of achieving the best grapes to produce high-quality wines, loyal to the variety and representative of the area.

Ego Bodegas has 25 hectares of their own vineyards, most of them planted with the local Monastrell variety, ungrafted, and with an average age of 50 years.

The climate in the area is continental, with the influence of the Mediterranean to the East and the plateau of La Mancha to the West.

Goru 38 Barrels is a wine made from Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. They select the best grapes from their own vineyards.

They are manually harvested and placed in 15-kg boxes, with a strict selection in the vineyards. Each variety is vinified separately, fermenting in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature so that it does not exceed 28°C. They go through maceration for 20-30 days, depending on the variety. This wine goes through malolactic fermentation in French and American oak barrels, where it remains for 12 months.

2018

Goru 38 Barrels 2018 is a concentrated red wine with complex aromas of black fruit accompanied by spicy notes and roasted and balsamic reminiscences. On the palate, it is silky, elegant, and balanced. A medium-bodied wine with tannins, acidity, and good structure. The finish is long, persistent, and with balsamic nuances.

2016 Goru 38 Barrels is a complex, mature and structured wine. A great blend of the ripe black fruit aromas with the toasted and smoked notes of the ageing. An intense but extremely elegant wine.
