About Gemma Miró Les Agulles

Grandmothers possess a unique gift. Their patience, wisdom, and affection leave indelible marks on their grandchildren, teaching them to perceive the world through a different lens. For Gemma Miró, a simple stroll through the estate is enough for nature to evoke memories of her grandmother. Upon encountering the pine needles at the Les Pinyanes estate, her mind immediately associates them with her grandmother Mariona's sewing needles. From this beautiful connection emerges Les Agulles, a wine that pays tribute to her grandmother's strong and independent spirit.

Gemma Miró is a young winemaker from Falset, in the Priorat region of Catalonia. A biologist with a master's degree in Viticulture and Oenology, she decided in 2020 to revive her grandfather's vineyard with the aim of restoring the family vineyard and managing it with respect and humility.

From this ambition comes Les Agulles, a wine made entirely from garnacha tinta, sourced from century-old vineyards at Les Pinyanes. A single-varietal from 40-year-old vines grown on soils of sand, clay, and slate, typical of Priorat, and in the winery, it ferments in stainless steel and old 500 L barrels for 7 months. A wine of minimal intervention that seeks to fully express the unique personality of this vineyard.

The result is Les Agulles, a fresh and delicate wine that mirrors her grandmother's character: strong, independent, and full of life.

With its radiant cherry hue, this red wine envelops you in an intoxicating aroma of red fruits, such as fresh strawberries and cherries, complemented by a subtle hint of Mediterranean herbs like thyme and rosemary. On the palate, it is juicy, light, and unexpectedly refreshing, imparting a sensation of purity and elegance that captures the essence of Grenache.
