About Garnatxa de Cims de Porrera

Garnatxa de Cims de Porrera is a red wine from the D.O. Priorat made from Grenache grapes from vineyards between 40 and 100 years old situated at an altitude of 350 to 500 metres. The density of the plantation is 2,800 grapevines per hectare. The harvest is manual with boxes of 12 kilos. The Grenache is destemmed before being crushed. The temperature of fermentation is kept at between 28-30ºC, making a couple crushings per day, for two weeks. During the following 15-20 days the lees are stirred and skinned until the pressing.
2013 Garnatxa de Cims de Porrera 2013 is a mature, elegant and concentrated red wine. A vintage that surprises us for its freshness, its sweet red fruit, with notes of orange peel on a subtle toasted background. In the mouth, it is round, very silky and with a long and fresh finish.
2012 Garnatxa de Cims de Porrera 2012 is a powerful, structured and concentrated red wine. A very good vintage for this wine, revealing all the character of the terroir and the typicality of the variety in this area.
2009 The attack is fresh and gently warms the mouth, scattering notes of very ripe black fruit. Mineral notes appear as well as spices, chocolate, coffee candy...  The tannins are very ripe, and the finish balanced.

Priorat red wine with a very deep red colour.

The nose gives off notes of liquorice, incense, chocolate, black fruits, spices...
2007 Garnatxa Cims de Porrera has a good opening on the palate. Full-flavoured and tasty but very elegant. Mature tannins and very good acidity.
Slightly bitter finish. 
In the retronasal memories of the nose. Black fruit, roasted and a pleasant minerality.


Cherry red with purple reflections.

Very expressive on the nose. Black fruit and balsamic notes on a marvellous mineral base combined with certain roasted and smoked notes from the ageing process.
