About Fulcro Aliaxe
Fulcrum Aliaxe is a red wine coupage of the Caiño tinto, Espadeiro and Loureiro varieties, developed by the Fulcrum cellar under the DO Rías Baixas in Galicia, Spain.
Manuel Moldes, affectionately called “Chicho” by his friends, is one of the names of the Galician wine scene giving everyone something to talk about. He produces authentic signature wines with their own personality which are very different from the usual Rías Baixas styles where, without setting aside the elaboration of the Albariño white wines characteristic of the area, he has ensured that red wine lovers find a redoubt with ample potential for obtaining high quality, fresh wines.
Fulcro Aliaxe is made from bunches which come from vineyards with soils made of clay, schists and granite whose vines range in age from 20 to 70 years. The grapes are de-stemmed and fermented with native yeasts in open tanks where they also macerate for 40 days. The resulting wine ages for 12 months in used 300-liter barrels.
Fulcro Aliaxe is a very personal wine which doesn’t undergo malolactic fermentation in order to retain all its freshness. In short, a great Galician red wine made in the land of white wines which causes a sensation and surprises locals and strangers alike.
