About Domaine Vicomte de Noüe Marinic Goriska Brda Tejca Vedrignano II Cru Classificazione

In the heart of European viticulture, the vineyards of Goriška Brda in Slovenia—often referred to as the Slovenian Tuscany—boast a rare advantage: an exceptional terroir frequently likened to that of the prestigious French Burgundy. However, unlike Burgundy, Brda offers a greater diversity of soils and microclimates, allowing for a broader range of grape varieties. Today, Slovenia cultivates 52 types of grapes, and in Brda, the ambition of winemakers is to extract the best from each plot, applying a distinctly Burgundian interpretation of the vineyard.

This is the ethos behind the Domaine Vicomte de Noüe Marinic project, where Charles-Louis de Noüe, a French nobleman, collaborates with Alis Marinic, a respected Slovenian oenologist, to create single-vineyard wines (Cru) that express the unique identity of each vineyard. Their aim is to craft white wines from chardonnay and rebula aged in French oak, offering elegance, minerality, and a rich texture that ranks them among the world's finest.

Tejca Vedrignano II Cru Classificazione is the jewel of the estate. It hails from the eponymous vineyard, with vines around 30 years old cultivated on "ponca," an exceptional marl-limestone soil that dominates the vineyards of Goriška Brda. This cuvée is crafted solely from the most profound and complex Crus, following the philosophy of Burgundy's Grand Cru, with spontaneous fermentation and aging for 24 months in steel and small wooden barrels. Although not certified organic, its expression is pure and authentic.
