About Domaine Huet Vouvray Haut Lieu Moelleaux

Dispensing with conventional clocks and calendars, at Domaine Huet, the phases of the moon, the planets, and the rhythms of the earth dictate every step in the vineyard. Established in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston, this estate in the Loire Valley was among the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in France, recognising that the true secret of a great wine lies in respecting the soil, the vine, and the environment.

Today, Domaine Huet boasts 35 hectares of chenin blanc, spread across three legendary plots: Haut-Lieu, Le Mont, and Clos du Bourg. Each vineyard possesses its own distinct character, and each vine is tended with the sensitivity of vintners of yesteryear, those who understood that a vineyard is life, memory, and time.

Among its treasures shines Domaine Huet Vouvray Haut Lieu Moelleaux, a wine that captures the essence of chenin in its fullest expression. It hails from vineyards over 10 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils, cultivated biodynamically to preserve the terroir's character and the grape's authenticity. The process is as delicate as the wine itself. To begin, pressing is conducted with care, and after 24 hours of settling, the must is divided into two parts: one ferments in stainless steel tanks and the other in used barrels. The fermentation lasts as long as the richness of the must and the activity of the native yeasts require, and then the wine is aged for 6 months before bottling.

Domaine Huet Vouvray Haut Lieu Moelleaux marries elegance, complexity, and restrained sweetness. A gem from the Loire capable of conveying in each glass the history of its vineyards, respect for the land, and an obsession with typicity.
