About Château Brane-Cantenac Baron de Brane

Baron de Brane is the second wine from Château Brane-Cantenac. This red wine’s name is a tribute to the “Napoleon of the vineyards”, Baron Jacques-Maxime de Brane, a visionary who understood the extraordinary quality that could come from these vineyards, located in one of the best areas of Margaux (Bordeaux).
 
Four generations have passed since the Lurton family bought the estate. Today, it is Henri Lurton, the current generation of the Château, who has quietly but steadily focused his efforts on making the best possible wine and he has undoubtedly succeeded in positioning Château Brane-Cantenac as one of the most sought-after names in Margaux.
 
Château Brane-Cantenac Baron de Brane is a red wine made from a coupage of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes grown following the principles of organic agriculture. Before aging, the tanks used to make Château Brane-Cantenac Baron de Brane are carefully selected. This wine is aged in the same way as the winery’s first wine (Château Brane-Cantenac) but for a shorter period of time.
 
The Lurton family continues the legacy of their ancestors, without losing sight of the traditional values that form the identity of Brane, which go hand in hand with modern methods encouraging innovation and new technologies, and always based on the philosophy of respect for the soil, the vineyard and the grapes of this unique and special terroir. 
 
This evolution has led to the transformation of viticulture towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly path, enhancing the quality of the wines produced there, like Château Brane-Cantenac Baron de Brane, which expresses the elegance you would expect from a great Bordeaux wine and reaffirms the excellence of this extraordinary terroir.
