About Botani Garnacha

This is the first harvest of Botani Garnacha, the first varietal red wine made of Garnacha within the D.O. Sierras de Málaga. It is made of grapes from vineyards aged of 25 years on average grown in the village of Axarquía at 700 m altitude, with organic farming methods. The winery has already applied for the organic farming label. Vineyards are located in a continental area, with high day-night temperature differences, very cold winters and very warm summers. Sandy soil made of clay and slime. Grapes are manually harvested at mid September in 10-15 kg cases. Once in the winery, they go through a selection table. It goes through a malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and is aged for 6 months in 500-600 l French oak barrels. 

2020

Botani Garnacha 2020 is a succulent red wine, boasting a cherry hue with purplish edges. The bouquet is profoundly intense, suffused with fruity nuances (strawberries), floral tones, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is exceptionally flavourful, preserving that fruity character. It possesses a well-balanced acidity. The finish is extensive and delectable.
2011 This wine shows a fresh and bulky attack and a mid palate marked by its huge load of fruit and its good acidity which provides it with persistence. Medium finish with suggestive sweet and mineral notes and a marked persistence. Very pleasant.

Nice ruby red colour with violet reflections. Clean and bright.

Medium-high intensity aromas with deep notes of very ripe black fruit combined with floral and milky hints. Nice smoked and spicy background.
