Twelve generations and counting. If the Girardin family is renowned for anything, it is their undeniable connection to wine. Now, Pierre-Vincent Girardin is carrying forward his family's legacy in wine production within the A.O.C. Bourgogne. The knowledge and lessons he absorbed at the family winery under his father's guidance are now embodied in his own wines, such as Pierre Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Éclat de Calcaire.

They say the end of one story is merely the beginning of a new adventure. This was indeed the case when, in 2011, his father decided to sell his winery, reserving 4.5 hectares of the finest vineyards for Vincent. Here, he would begin his own journey, crafting his first wine in 2017 and emerging as a promising talent in the A.O.C. Bourgogne. With Pierre Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Éclat de Calcaire, Pierre-Vincent Girardin reveals the most authentic expression of the vineyards of Volnay (Chaignot hill) and Pommard, in the Côte de Beaune, at the heart of Burgundy. Under a continental climate, with stark temperature contrasts between very warm summers and very cold winters with potential for heavy rains, hailstorms, or frosts, this region produces elegant and delicate reds.

The harvest of Pierre Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Éclat de Calcaire is conducted manually. Once the must is obtained, this red wine, crafted from pinot noir, ferments using indigenous yeasts. After several months of ageing in barrels (30% of which are new) and additional time in stainless steel tanks, Pierre Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Éclat de Calcaire will be bottled without filtering or fining. The best way to experience the purest A.O.C. Bourgogne with a producer who has it in his veins.
