Matías Michelini GarnaCHE is a biodynamic red wine made with the Garnacha Tinta variety by Matías Michelini in the D.O. Navarra.
Matías Michelini is an Argentine winegrower who went to Viña Zorzal Wines in Navarra out of curiosity to learn about a project with the same name as his winery in Argentina. During this visit, he fell in love with the old Garnachas that the winery produces and a most delicious collaboration began.
Matías Michelini GarnaCHE comes from a 2.1 hectare vineyard located in the town of Fitero, in the so-called Corral de los Altos area. The vines have an average age of 40 years old and they are planted at 500 metres above sea level in rocky, stony soils, with clays, limestones and conglomerates. The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments and following the lunar cycles in each of the processes.
In the winery, the Matías Michelini GarnaCHE grapes are pressed in whole bunches. After separating the stems, alcoholic fermentation takes place with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation and aging takes place in 500-litre two-year-old French oak barrels and in a flextank egg for 9 months.
Matías Michelini GarnaCHE is a wine that showcases the Navarra Garnacha in all its splendour. A vibrant and expressive wine in true Michellini style.
